Deux Sèvres takes its name from the two rivers, Sèvre Nantaise and Sèvre Niortaise each having their source in the department. The Sèvre Nantaise flows into the river Loire in the city of Nantes (from whence its name) and within the Deux Sèvres department flows through Moncoutant and La forêt-sur-Sèvre
