Wissembourg (literally "white town") is the most northerly point of Alsace, right on the border with Germany. Built at the foot of wooded hills among vineyards and orchards, this agricultural town comes alive at Easter time with traditional Alsatian folk music and tradition.
The town of Haguenau dates back to the twelfth century and the erection of a hunting lodge by the duke of Swabia. Today it boasts the largest undivided forest in France.
